Abstract

This essay focuses on the reception of the Epistole devotissime of Caterina from Siena in the feminine convent literature between XV and XVI, from the Manuzio’s edition in Venise in 1500. The principal theme regards the decline of prophetic vocation in the feminine religious florentine tradition from Domenica from Paradiso to Caterina de’ Ricci and Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi.
