Abstract
Abstract – Our contribution aims at analysing the role and semiotic functions of terminological metaphors in LSP texts and discourses. Most notably, we will focus on different kinds of metaphorical terms inside specialised languages and on the various problems that these terms may cause in translation processes. The importance of textual genres and of texts specialisation degree, as well as the crucial role of pragmatic and contextual factors, will also be taken into account, as far as translation and comparative cross-linguistic analysis are concerned.
