Focus and Scope

LINGUE E LINGUAGGI is an international and interdisciplinary journal in the areas of humanities, with particular emphasis on modern languages, linguistic analysis, literary criticism, and translation. It is published twice a year. All issues will be freely available on the journal website, where you can print out a single paper or the entire volume, using the print-on-demand facility. To take full advantage of electronic publishing, each paper is marked by an individual code (DOI), which makes them readily identifiable and searchable via Web technologies.

The journal accepts manuscripts in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Albanian (in honor of the many souls that make up our Department) and adopts a double-blind refereeing process.

Authors wishing to submit a manuscript to the journal must register as authors in the journal website and submit their manuscript using the New Submission feature. Guidelines and templates for authors are available on the journal’s home page, at the link Author’s_Guidelines.

Each volume will include papers, as well as reviews. There is no set maximum length for papers, but we suggest they should be 10-25 pages long. The reviews should be 2-10 pages long.

Each author may submit a maximum of one manuscript and one review per issue. Only original manuscripts which have not been submitted to other journals will be accepted. The originality of the manuscript will be assessed through specific anti-plagiarism systems, before the manuscript is sent to reviewers. Manuscripts should meet the typographical and editorial standards specified in the journal’s website.

No processing charges or article submission charges apply to authors of any country or institution.

LINGUE E LINGUAGGI è una rivista internazionale e interdisciplinare delle aree umanistiche con particolare attenzione per le analisi linguistiche, letterarie e traduttive nell’ambito delle lingue moderne. La rivista ha cadenza semestrale. I numeri sono accessibili gratuitamente sul sito della rivista, dove è possibile stampare un singolo articolo o l’intero volume tramite la funzionalità di print-on-demand. Per sfruttare appieno i vantaggi della pubblicazione elettronica, i singoli contributi sono contraddistinti da un codice individuale (DOI), che li rende immediatamente individuabili e ricercabili tramite le tecnologie Web.

La rivista accetta contributi in inglese, italiano, francese, tedesco, spagnolo, portoghese, russo e albanese (in onore alle diverse anime linguistiche che compongono il dipartimento) e adotta un sistema di doppio referaggio anonimo.

Gli autori che intendono sottoporre un articolo alla rivista devono registrarsi come autori nel sito della rivista e inviare il proprio articolo tramite la funzione New Submission. Le norme redazionali e i template per gli autori sono visibili nella pagina principale della rivista, nel link Author’s_Guidelines.

Ogni volume includerà articoli e recensioni. Non è prevista una lunghezza massima per gli articoli, ma si suggerisce che abbiano lunghezza compresa tra le 10 e le 25 pagine. Le recensioni devono avere lunghezza compresa tra le 2 e le 10 pagine.

Per ciascun volume, ogni autore potrà inviare non più di un contributo e una recensione. Potranno essere accettati solo contributi inediti e che non siano contemporaneamente stati inviati ad altre riviste per accettazione. L’originalità del contributo verrà valutata tramite appositi sistemi antiplagio, prima di essere inviato ai revisori. I contributi dovranno rispettare le norme tipografiche e redazionali specificate sul sito della rivista

La pubblicazione su Lingue e Linguaggi non ha costi a carico degli autori.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Reviewers are chosen by the Section Editors among the members of the Scientific Commettee, on the basis of their expertize in the field of the manuscript's topic. If necessary, external reviewers can be contacted. Each manuscript is sent to two reviewers.

Only original manuscripts which have not been submitted to other journals will be accepted. The originality of the manuscript will be assessed through specific anti-plagiarism systems, before the manuscript is sent to reviewers.

The criteria by which reviewers are asked to judge submissions are:

- how intelligible are the abstract, the title, and the overall structure of the paper
- how relevant and innovative is the paper for the international scientific community
- is the literature review complete and coherent with the paper’s aims and methods
- has a coherent and appropriate method of investigation been adopted
- are the findings, discussions and conclusions clearly organized and illustrated
- are the references up-to-date
- is the paper grammatically and formally acceptable

 

Review Policy

Tutti i contributi inviati alla rivista seguono un processo di referaggio tra pari di tipo double-blind. I revisori vengono scelti dai Section Editor tra i membri del Comitato Scientifico, in base alla loro competenza specifica sull'argomento trattato nel contributo. Se necessario, possono essere coinvolti revisori esterni. Ogni contributo è assegnato a due revisori.

Potranno essere accettati solo contributi inediti e che non siano contemporaneamente stati inviati ad altre riviste per accettazione. L’originalità del contributo verrà valutata tramite appositi sistemi antiplagio, prima di essere inviato ai revisori. I contributi dovranno rispettare le norme tipografiche e redazionali specificate sul sito della rivista.

Come guida per la revisione utilizzare i seguenti punti:

- chiarezza espositiva, efficacia dell’abstract, efficacia del titolo, struttura dell’articolo
- originalità e rilevanza (innovativo contributo all’ambito di ricerca per la comunità scientifica internazionale, visione interdisciplinare, coerenza tematica, ecc.) 
- completezza e coerenza della rassegna della letteratura scientifica esistente e pertinente - metodo di analisi chiaro ed adeguato 
- chiarezza e organicità della discussione e delle conclusioni 
- bibliografia ricca e aggiornata 
- correttezza grammaticale e formale

The journal is published in two issues per year.

This publication provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics

Lingue e Linguaggi is a double-blind peer reviewed scientific journal which follows the ethic statements of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. All possible measures against any publication malpractice are taken. All parts involved – editors, referees and authors - must know and agree on these ethic principles.
