Il seguente articolo si pone come obiettivo quello di analizzare, attraverso grafici e dati estratti dall'Archivio del ministero degli Interni, la classe politica pugliese eletta in Parlamento dal 1972 al 1992 attraverso una comparazione tra i quattro principali partiti della Prima Repubblica: la Democrazia Cristiana, il Partito Comunista Italiano, il Partito Socialista Italiano e il Movimento Sociale Italiano. I criteri sono la permanenza e il ricambio in Parlamento, l'età dei rappresentanti, i titoli di studio e professione e, infine, ma non per importanza il genere. Il ventennio scelto non è casuale, in quanto è caratterizzato da profondi cambiamenti che investono la società italiana e da flussi elettorali che da una parte modificano gli equilibri presistenti e, dall'altra, costringono i partiti a rinnovarsi. Il 1992 segna una data spartiacque non solo per la fine della Prima Repubblica, ma anche nella recluta del personale politico che avverrà nelle successive tornate con criteri differenti rispetto a quelli conosciuti fino a quel momento.

The following article aims to analyze, through graphs and data extracted from the Archive of the Ministry of the Interior, the political class from Apulia elected to Parliament from 1972 to 1992, by comparing the four main parties of the First Republic: the Christian Democracy, the Italian Communist Party, the Italian Socialist Party, and the Italian Social Movement. The criteria examined are the permanence and turnover in Parliament, the age of representatives, their educational background and profession, and, last but not least, gender. The chosen two decades are not random, as they are characterized by profound changes affecting Italian society and electoral flows that, on one hand, modify existing balances and, on the other hand, compel parties to renew themselves. The year 1992 marks a watershed not only for the end of the First Republic but also in the recruitment of political personnel, which will occur in subsequent elections with criteria different from those known up to that moment.
