Protagoniste della Storia: le donne in Russia tra XX e XXI secolo

Partendo dalla considerazione secondo la quale le donne sono state molte volte protagoniste silenziose della "grande" Storia, malgrado il loro contributo spesso decisivo, si è voluto mettere in evidenza nel presente saggio come questo sia vero anche per la storia della Russia. Dopo aver citato alcuni esempi di donne "note", ovvero casi singoli di donne che dal Settecento ad oggi hanno scritto pagine di storia russa e sulle quali molto si è scritto, si sono quindi individuati, ispirandosi al caso delle donne attive nella seconda guerra mondiale a cui ha voluto dar voce la scrittrice premio Nobel Svetlana Alekievič, altri esempi di donne che, unite e come gruppo, hanno anch'esse dato il loro contributo alla Storia, ma sulle quali spesso si è taciuto o non si è detto abbastanza. Si è scelto di fare rifermento in particolare all'ultimo secolo con l'obiettivo di far emergere e dare il giusto riconoscimento al ruolo che quelle donne, dalle politicamente più attive alle donne "comuni" impegnate nella sopravvivenza quotidiana loro e dei loro cari, hanno giocato e giocano nella Storia al fianco e spesso al posto degli uomini.

Starting from the consideration according to which women have often been silent protagonists of "great" history, despite their often decisive contribution, this essay aims to highlight how this is also true for Russian history. After citing some examples of "well-known" women who have written pages of history since the Eighteenth century and about whom much has been written, we have therefore identified – inspired by the case of women active in the Second World War to whom Nobel laureate writer Svetlana Alekievič wanted to give a voice – other examples of women who, united and as a group, have also given their contribution to the history of Russia, but about whom we have often kept silent or not said enough. We have chosen to refer in particular to the last century with the aim of bringing out and giving due recognition to the role that those women – from the most politically active to the "ordinary" ones engaged in the daily survival of themselves and their loved ones – have played in history alongside and often in place of men.
