This study is based on personal surveys carried out in the period between July and September 2014 in some locations along the Ionian coast of the Salento Peninsula (Apulia, South Italy) to verify the presence and distribution of invasive species sally light-foot crab Percnon gibbesi of subtropical origin. Adults of both sexes have been observed on rocky shorelines, constituting stable populations more or less consistent. The present data confirm the presence, but also update the geographic distribution of this NIS proving its fast adaptation and diffusion from its first report in 2005, along the Ionian coast of the Salento.
