Divulgação do discurso especializado e marcadores discursivos. Uma análise de Tedx talks em português brasileiro

Abstract

The aim of the present work is the analysis of a corpus of TEDx talks delivered in Brazilian Portuguese, from a linguistic and communicative point of view, focusing on the use of discursive markers in this kind of monitored communicative events, where specialized discourse is combined with spontaneous speech. Each talk is previously planned and delivered by an expert speaker in a unidirectional way, which leads to an asymmetrical communication intended for a non-specialist audience, who can attend the event in-person or watch the video recording of the live event on the TEDx YouTube channel at a later time. The oral nature of the talk lead to a variable but relevant influence of spontaneous speech structures, which moves the actual communication towards a more symmetrical communication, creating a sort of interaction with the audience who, in any case, has little to no possibility of real feedback. Taking this trait in consideration, the analysis is focused on interactional discursive markers, dividing the corpus in three sections depending on whether the audience is actually present or had only the possibility of watching the video recording. In the latter case, the corpus is furtherly divided between the events recorded on a stage or in a studio recreating the environment of a TEDx conference and the ones not included in this kind of format, according to the hypothesis that the organization of the speech and, as a consequence the speakers’ communicative behavior, might be different. The study includes quantitative and qualitative considerations and is conducted on the transcriptions of the video recordings of the talks.
