Un poco noto Virgilio "romano" (Urbana-Champaign, William R. and Clarice V. Spurlock Museum inv. 1931.20.0002)
Abstract
A parchment bifolium now kept in Urbana-Champaign is the only extant evidence of a text of Virgil (Aen. iii 136-177, 191-232, 246-287, 301-342) copied in Rome in the so called «romanesca» caroline minuscule. Palaeograhical and codicological description of the fragment, together with an editio princeps of the numerous interlinear and marginal glosses, is here provided.
