Una nuova edizione del PRyl III 492 (Sulle guerre persiane)
Abstract
In 1920 B.P. Grenfell purchased in Egypt a considerable group of papyri on behalf of the Egypt Exploration Society and the John Rylands Library of Manchester. The future PRyl III 492, that was also part of this lot (edited for the first time in 1938 by C.H. Roberts), comes from a papyrus codex and appears to have been an historical work dealing with the Persian Wars: an account on Marathon and the preliminaries of such campaign. in this paper i present the results of a papyrological, palaeographical and philological analysis of the fragment, with a new transcription and a new textual comment.
