Algorithmic cultures e new media field. El jardín de las delicias al Matadero di Madrid = Algorithmic cultures and new media field. El jardín de las delicias at the Matadero in Madrid

Abstract

The paper presents the relationship between the new worlds of art (Becker 2002) and technological and digital transformations starting with the case study El jardín de las delicias. Un recorrido a través de las obras de la Colección SOLO is a revisitation through 45 works that express themselves with the languages of Digital Art and New Media Art. The exhibition route proposed at the Matadero in Madrid allows us to redefine the position of art as a medium that not only allows the intersection of scientific (Cristante 2011) and technical knowledge, but also to attempt to return the media artist to his role as technician and artisan, without however renouncing his mandate as intellectual. The artists involved are in fact known for experimenting with languages derived from AI Aesthetics, New Media, and Algorithmic Cultures (cf. Seyfert, Roberge 2016)
