La rivoluzione russa e il comunismo tra storia e storiografia

Abstract

As is known, the historiographical production on the Russian revolution and on communism has gone through several phases, often marked by a strong ideological involvement. The essay analyzes the extent to which studies on communism and the Bolshevik revolution have been carried out some thirty years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. There is no doubt that the fall of the Berlin Wall represented a real turning point, as the opening of the Soviet archives gave the opportunity to consult new sources, thus providing new ideas for research. The article, in particular, provides a summary of this new season of studies concerning the Russian revolution, the Stalinism and the Italian Communist Party.
