Rivoluzione e periferie imperiali: la questione dell’Ucraina nel 1917

Abstract

The essay deals with the impact of the Russian Revolutions of February and October 1917 on the South-Western regions of the former Tsarist Empire (corresponding to its Ukrainian territories). In the course of a close confrontation with the Provisional Government first, and then with the Bolsheviks in power, it achieved a declaration of independence and the temporary emergence of a new political player on the European scene, the Ukrainian National Republic
